Event News and Information

It's National Library Week!  To celebrate we are holding our annual National Library Week art contest.  Sixty four artists in Preschool through Grade 4 submitted their work.  These pictures are on display in the Children's Department and the public may vote for their favorites through Saturday, April 19.  It's going to be tough to pick a favorite!

Per the City Manager we are closing at 2 PM on Friday for the Easter weekend and Passover. No worries! The 3:30 PM Game Day for Friday has been moved to 10:30 AM to 12 PM. Stop by and play some games. Ms. Lori has even purchased some new ones! (Yes, parents, a free activity for Friday!)

Did you know that the number of children affected by autism in the United States is increasing?  The latest report from the CDC states that 1 out of 68 children in the US is on the autism spectrum.  April is Autism Awareness Month.  To commemorate the month we are offering a special Autism Awareness Scavenger Hunt.  Stop by the Children's Department anytime between 1 PM and 3 PM on April 24 to do a little sleuthing.  Can you find all the Autism Awareness ribbons we've hidden in the Children's Department?  Find them all and win a small prize.  This activity is open to all children age 15 and younger.  We look forward to seeing you!
