The Friends of the Library Needs Your New or Gently Used Stuff!
Children's Shopping Day - Saturday, November 29, 2014

Why donate? The Friends of the Library is hosting its 3rd Annual "Children's Shopping Day" on Saturday, November 29, 2014—when children ages 4 to 14 can shop for gifts on their own or with the help of friendly library volunteers for families and friends. The children will also get help wrapping and tagging each gift. All proceeds will support library programs.

We're looking for donations of:

Knicknacks Sports Memorabilia Children's books
DVDs Unopened Puzzles and games Tools and gadgets
Stationary Small Sports equipment Gifs for men or boys
LEGOs Men's ties, scarves, gloves Unopened craft gifts
Toys Women's scarves, jewelry Gift bags, tags, tissue paper

Where and when can I donate? Starting September 27, drop off your donations at the library (downstairs at the ciruclaiton desk) on Saturday mornings between 10AM and 2 PM. Donations are tax deductable, so don't forget to ask for a Donated gods receipt.

Come to our event on Saturday, November 29 at the Ground Floor Meeting room of the Pollard Library (401 Merrimack St, Lowell). Enjoy one-stop shopping at the Pollard Library—select from hundreds of items costing between $1 and $5.
     10 AM - 1 PM: Kids only (ages 4-14)
     1 PM - 2 PM: Kids (ages 4-14) and Friends of the Library members
     2 PM - 4 PM: Everyone welcome

About Us:

The Friends of the Pollard Memorial Library is a volunteer group dedicated to supporting the library and its programs. Our primary goal is to support the museum pass program, allowing library patrons to visit designated museums at reduced admission prices. We also sponsor various other programs at the library, such as author programs, genealogy workshops, and movie nights.

Our funding comes from membership dues, donations, book sales, bake sales, and other events, as well as from ongoing sales from our book cart (located in the library next to the circulation desk).

We are committed to supporting the library and the Lowell community. Currently we host an annual book sale, and we plan to add more outreach and membership events in the coming year. Are you interested in a summer garden tour, a fall apple-picking party, a winter bowling night, or a spring wine tasting? Let us know your thoughts. We welcome your input and look forward to the opportunity to get to know you better.

Become a member!

Join us today! Annual memberships are $15 for families, $10 for individuals, and $5 for students and seniors. Your contribution will go directly toward supporting library programs. We are a registered (501)(c)(3)nonprofit. We would be happy to receive your check or money order accompanied by a membership form (available in the library or through the mail by calling 978-674-4120). You might also consider volunteering—we're always happy for the help!
